Once upon a time there was a guy named “Mel” who wound pickups for CBS- Fender. While examining these pickups in a friends April 1965 Stratocaster guitar that his Father bought him used in 1969, we noticed that the Mel had a mix of 42-gauge Formvar wire and 42- gauge Plain Enamel wire. The neck and middle pickup was 42-gauge Plain Enamel; the bridge pickup was 42-gauge heavy duty Formvar. This CBS-Fender transition pickup set is very special and adds a perfect blend of harmonic tones to please the die-hard “Strat” fan. Made to exact specs.
